Abstract
Breast is a rarely primary site for extranodal non-Hodgkin¡¯s lymphoma even though secondary involvement of the breast with diffuse disease of non-Hodgkin¡¯s lymphoma is more common. A 46-year-old woman was referred to our hospital for painless rapid growing left breast mass. Histologic finding of the lesion was invasive ductal and lobular carcinoma at an outside institution by core needle biopsy and fine needle aspiration cytology. However, reviewed histology of our institution was non-Hodgkin¡¯s lymphoma with diffuse large B-cell type and where staging workup also revealed bilateral breast involvement by blind core needle biopsy at the site of hot uptake area of the right breast in PET/CT though there was no suspected area in mammography, ultrasonography, and MRI. Primary bilateral breast lymphoma of the breast is a rare disease and it has no clinical or radiological clues that distinguish it from invasive breast carcinoma. Therefore it is important that accurate preoperative pathologic diagnosis using core biopsy is required to avoid unnecessary operation as malignant lymphoma.
